Nearly 99% of intimate partner violence relationships experience some form of financial and economic abuse. Factoring in the higher rate of relationship abuse and racial and pay inequities, it's not hard to understand why Black survivors struggle to get back on solid ground after experiencing abuse. Courageous SHIFT proudly hosts the inaugural Survive + Thrive: Black Financial Health Week, June 10 through June 14, 2024.

Survive + Thrive: Black Financial Health Week aims to provide survivors, community members, and supporters with the tools to start over and achieve financial and economic freedom. The week will consist of:

  • A virtual week-long financial empowerment series, Moving Ahead, by the Allstate Foundation, includes a Certificate of Completion.

  • An in-person roundtable with survivors discussing their experiences overcoming financial and economic abuse.

  • Digital resources to download.

  • Local resources to support you on your journey to freedom.

  • And much more!

This series is for any Black survivor, whether you are in an abusive relationship, planning to leave, or have left.

All events are free to attend!
